ACRIFIX® 117 solvent-based adhesive is a mixture of different solvents. The bonding method is based on the local dissolution of the bonding surface. During this process, the polymer chains swell and crosslinks occur. When the bonding parts are combined, the solvent evaporates from the adhesive and diffuses into the material. The crosslinked polymer chains shrink and complete bonding. Solvent-based adhesives usually have good adhesive strength.
The advantages of solvent-based adhesives are the rapid formation of initial bond strength between the bonded parts and their suitability for outdoor applications.
